Showcasing Southern Chinese Home Cooking with inspirations from Hainan Island and beyond

Born from a nostalgic longing for the flavours of home, Hainan House celebrates the light, refreshing essence of Southern Chinese cooking through a comforting and balanced menu. Our culinary philosophy honours time-honoured techniques to present beloved Hainanese dishes such as chicken rice, poached chicken — known internationally as Hainanese chicken — and our handmade Yi Bua sticky rice cakes.

Rooted in the rich heritage of Qiong Cuisine from Southern China, our cooking style is shaped by influences from Canton, Hakka, and Min traditions. We are delighted to share with London the cherished tastes of our childhood mealtimes — flavours that carry both warmth and familiarity.

With a distinctive approach to flavour, our aim is to capture and reinterpret the food memories that define the Southern Chinese palate. At Hainan House, we are committed to working with carefully selected ingredients and authentic regional methods. Beyond creating new dishes, we continue to journey through South China, discovering hidden culinary treasures to bring back and share with you. Stay tuned for our chef’s special creations — each one inspired by a story of taste, memory, and craft.
